We’ve been inspired by the individuals and families that City Care serves. Knowing how close we all are to being in their shoes by simply not having a solid support system inspired us to give.

Why have you chosen to partner with City Care?
We love that City Care does not take sole ownership of the problem we are facing. They charge us to join with them, to join with one another and to join with other nonprofits working toward the same goal. No one entity can fix this— we have to work together.

What specific causes inspire you?
City Care’s vision for providing stability for our unhoused neighbors in Oklahoma City is inspiring. We cannot wait to live in the reality of our entire community coming together and taking ownership of our city.

Is there anything else you'd like people to know?
One of the reasons we love giving month to month is because of the stories we’ve heard through City Care’s annual signature event, The Odyssey Project. Within a month of hearing about City Care, I was able to attend the event and it altered my perception of homelessness. I felt inspired by the strength of our unhoused neighbors, and I never would have known their stories if not for TOP. It made me realize how close we all are to being in that same vulnerable position. After that, I knew I wanted to volunteer for the TOP committee. My husband and I plan on doing all we can for this event as long as they’ll have us. It’s a fun, exciting, creative way to lend our expertise and support in spreading awareness and hopefully growing the heart in OKC for our vulnerable neighbors.

How and when were you first introduced to City Care?
I heard about CIty Care through my church and from a good friend who had worked with them for years.
Thank you to our City Care Collective Members.
To those who give faithfully to our most vulnerable neighbors, who join us month in and month out to meet the needs of those living in the margins of our community, who sustain us and motivate us and encourage us, thank you. We are so grateful for you.
